Shell simulation enables forming processes with thin sheets. Due to the short calculation time, the shell simulation is also suitable for thicker sheets for calculations and for an expressive first impression.
Solid simulation reproduces the forming process with maximum accuracy. The three-dimensional simulation model also calculates stresses and strains in the thickness direction. Forming processes with thick sheets or reduction of material thickness can only be validated reliably with solid simulation.
Designers and method planners use Stampack to identify problems in the method at an early stage, secure the process and consequently the number of cost-intensive tool change loops will be reduced.
