Typically heatshields and sound absorbing blanks are made with extremely thin and especially prepared blanks, the so-called embossed blanks that have a non-flat initial surface.

For these parts it is key to:

• Determine the area of wrinkling and material overlap
• Determine the area where the nubs are coined
• Detect cracks and failure
