Trim optimization in 15 minutes!

Obtaining optimal trimming lines is an essential part of modern process planning. In daily praxis the approximated trimming line coming from CAD are quite good, but usually, they are not in tolerance. Instead of making difficult and costly correction loops in try-out, we always recommend:    

✔   Make sure that your part is feasible by simulation!

✔   Apply Trim Optimizer to make sure that the boundary of the part is in tolerance!

In this battery case example, we have an overlap of material in the corners that causes massive wrinkling. Initial deviation was 3.2mm, after optimization we achieved to be only 0.12mm away from the target boundary.
